Step-by-Step Guide: Resetting Oil Life on Hyundai Veloster (2014-2017)

Maintaining the health of your Hyundai Veloster’s engine is crucial. The vehicle’s oil life monitoring system alerts you when it’s time for an oil change. If you have a Hyundai Veloster from the years 2014 through 2017, follow this guide to reset the oil life indicator after every oil change.

  • Turn the ignition to position On without starting the engine.
  • Press and hold the TRIP button until you enter to “User Setting” mode
  • Select “Maintenance” by pressing the RESET button
  • Select the desired maintenance schedule by pressing TRIP button to move and RESET button to select
  • Press the TRIP button for more than 2 seconds to come out of the Maintenance mode

Repeat the process, if message illuminates when you start the engine.

  3. Press the UP/DOWN buttons until MAINTENANCE RESET appears on the display, then press the SEL/RESET button. The oil life reset mode is displayed on the MID.
  4. Select RESET with the UP/DOWN buttons, then press the SEL/RESET button. The displayed maintenance items disappear and the oil life is reset to 100%.
  5. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

  2. Ensure Trip Metre A reading is shown. Turn the ignition off.
  3. While pressing the Trip Meter reset button, press the “ENGINE START STOP” switch once (do not start engine).
    Without multi-information display: Continue to press and hold the button until the trip meter displays “000000”.
    With multi-information display: Continue to press and hold the button until “COMPLETE” appears on the multi-information display.
  4. Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
